Industrial Refrigeration Design for 200,000 sqft Cold Room

This retailer required the design of a 200,000 sqft dual temperature chilled cold room for its distribution facility.

Solution:

Designing this bespoke, large-scale cold room required expert consultants and design engineers which ADA proudly provided. A 150,000 sqft 0°C chiller and a 50,000 sqft 4°C chiller were designed to create a 200,000 sqft facility. An ammonia-based system was designed to provide c.1.2MW of cooling capacity complete with heat recovery. ADA independently delivered all design, engineering, project management and cost management support – offering a service unrivalled within the industry. The cold room enabled the distribution centre to maximise the space available for the storage of chilled products, alongside improving the operational processes involved with the loading of transportation and distribution.
